Description

AbAlarm is a free and easy to use alarm clock app for Windows. With it, you can create reminders, scheduled tasks, and start countdowns. If you are a little tardy, then AbAlarm is a great app to help you become more punctual by giving you a nudge at at pre-set times.

This alarm utility is very simple to use. You simply need to choose the time when you want to be reminded, enter a reminder text and choose the alarm sound. The app comes preloaded with 10 sounds to choose from. If you wish, you can even choose to have an alarm with a ‘No Sound’ option. If you want to create reminder quickly, there is also a set of default alarm timings to choose from i.e.‘Current Time + 30 mins’.

The app also has a countdown feature that lets you start a countdown for a desired duration and add the text reminder with the countdown.

A Bizarre, yet cool feature of this utility are the Tea and Pizza modes. AbAlarm comes with many pre-installed tea and pizza timings. In these modes, in accord with the ‘tea or pizza’ option you select, the timer will be activated and after the elapsed time, it will remind to turn off the oven. If you tend to burn food on occasion whilst working on your PC, because you just forgot the time, this is a great tool!

AbAlarm also comes with a built-in Scheduler that allows you to create reminders, which repeat themselves after regular time intervals. The Scheduler can be configured to remind you, even if it is not running. The app uses Windows Task Manager to start itself and notify you.

A great feature of AbAlarm is the ability to add actions to your alarms. Under the ‘Actions’ section, you can choose what action to undertake after an interval of time. AbAlarm can open a file, or a web page, or even shut down the computer, at a preprogrammed time.

Overall, AbAlarm is a small app that consumes hardly any resources. It is fairly functional and can be used in a variety of situations. The interface is easy to use and can be navigated by everyone. As far as free clock tools go, this is not a bad one.
