ArcSoft WebCam Companion is a functional tool for your computer's webcam. The application can perform various standard functions, such as image capture, photo editing, frames and masque creation. It also has security functionality with a monitoring mode.
The standard feature of ArcSoft WebCam Companion is the capture mode, this is a function that will allow you to take photo and video images with your webcam and save, email, and print those images. ArcSoft WebCam Companion also has an editing feature that allows you to directly upload your videos to YouTube.
Worthy of note is the monitoring function. ArcSoft WebCam Companion keeps a full log of all activity detected and you can choose to be notified by email or FTP if it detects anything. You can customize a monitoring session to last up to 18 hours, and configure it to detect motion, faces or both.
Overall, ArcSoft WebCam Companion is a good tool for playing with images and morphing them into works of art by adding frames and editing them to your liking, and the monitoring function is useful, but the application lacks some customization features in certain areas and yet has a full complement in others. On the plus side, you can upload to YouTube and the monitoring functions are effective.
