Occasionally, sending large files over email can be slow or restricted by attachment size limits. This is where Balesio Fileminimizer Suite comes into play. The tool optimizes the size of a file through restructuring - without alteration of its content. File formats like PowerPoint, Excel or PDF remain the same but the file size is being reduced by as much as 90 percent according to Balesio. Plug-ins for Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Lotus Notes enable the compression of files directly out of these programs. Otherwise files can be compressed in Fileminimizer where the workflow follows three simple steps: 1. Open one or more files, 2. Select folder for the new files and 3. Set level of compression. For the latter, the user can choose among 4 presets or control the level in the manual settings. After compression, files can be send by email immediately, for example through Outlook. FileminimizerSuite also includes a search function with filters for location, size, date and file format.
